Breeding for British Blue , British Blue Agouti
My name is Phil Neate and with the help of my wife Sue I run Aquarius Rattery in Stroud Gloucestershire. We are breeding British Blue , British Blue Agouti, Black and Agouti We are members of the NFRS, and attend as many shows as possible with some of our ratties.
My love of rats began in 2006 when our son returned to live at home bringing a little pet shop girl. Over a short period of time she became my rat but sadly she did not live to a good age. A series of pet shop rats followed her into our lives one of whom was Lucan, a beautiful blue doe. From her my love of blue rats was born and I decided to research buying breeder rats in the hope of having rats that were not prone to the lumps and respiratory problems that seemed prevalent in our pet shop girls.
The inevitable wait for breeder rats began! Fortunately, we did not have to wait long, our first 2 girls Cariad Anad (BBA) and Cariad Eirian (BB) joined us in June 2008 from Nicola Broadbridge of Cariad Stud.
The first litter for Aquarius Rattery was born on 16th October 2008 from Cariad Anad and Alpha Centauri Liam, 13 beautiful healthy kittens, 6 of which, 4 boys and 2 girls, remain with us as the start of the Aquarius line.
